Emergence! New Artist Series at Yaletown Gallery

XtractionIn 2009, Yaletown Gallery started hosting a new platform for artists and musicians in one of Vancouver’s hippest neighbourhoods.

On the last Thursday evening of each month, art enthusiasts enjoyed music, hors-d’ouvres and wine while mingling with Vancouver’s hottest new artists and seeing what’s new on the art horizon.

Yaletown Gallery launched its first Emergence! New Artist Series show, which ran from March 22 to 28, 2009, in the historic Yaletown District of downtown Vancouver, Canada.  Featured artists included Eyoälha Baker, Adelle Bueno, Andrew Dexel, Amanda Emery, Mary Finlayson, Shakun Jhangiani, Carla Rasmussen, Ann-May Rhodes and musical guest The Land of Deborah.

Emergence! was a monthly effort to establish a legacy of art collecting and appreciation of local artists, create a dynamic movement in Vancouver’s multi-cultural visual art scene, bridge the gap between artists and the community, and create opportunities for emerging artists.
